Pastorerna i Sverige jämställs

Pastors in Sweden will be equal

The Executive Board of the Swedish Union of Churches Conference was gathered for their regular meeting on Sunday, March 13, and decided to cease ordination of pastors.

In August 2015, the Board made a decision in principle "to treat all pastors equally," "from employment to any public acknowledgment." The Board established a committee with the assignment to "find ways for full equality in shapes that do not need to include ordination and commissioning", within the framework of General Conference Working Policy.

During Sunday's deliberations, the Board approved the committee's proposal which is provided below in Swedish and English.

This text will be updated when the Board minutes are adjusted.
