There is a saying that many hands make light work. The truth of this statement is that more can be achieved working together as a team than individually. Leaders like Bill Gates (Microsoft founder), Steve Jobs (Apple founder), Bill Hybels, Billy Graham and many others, both secular and spiritual, may be viewed by many as great achievers but they would probably be the first to admit that their success in life was a team effort.
Life is all about team work. Family is a team. Corporations run on the basis of teamwork. Athletes excel because of teamwork. Jesus even modeled the benefits of teamwork when he walked on earth. And churches grow and fulfill the Great Commission as a result of teamwork.
Regardless of church size, the pastor or leader cannot do it all. We need teamwork! I believe God created us to work together both in life and especially in the church in order to achieve success. Solomon reminds us that: “Two can stand back to back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple braided cord is not easily broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12).
Do you want to accomplish more each day? Then resist the temptation to do everything on your own. Remember, the Christian life is more rewarding if it is lived with others and not just for yourself.
